Description

IS series single-stage single-suction (shaft axial suction) centrifugal pump is used in giving and discharging water in industry and city, it also used in agriculture irrigation. It transfers clean water or other liquids whose physical and chemical character like clean water. The temperature of medium is no higher than 80°C.

Pump Structure

The performances and dimension of IS pump are designed according to international standard ISO2858, mainly composed of pump casing, pump cover, impeller, shaft seal, bearing etc. (refer to structure drawing).

The pump casing and pump cover of IS series pump are split from the back of impeller, which is usually called back-open structure. When inspecting or repairing, you don't need to move the pump casing, suction pipeline, discharging pipeline and motor. You only take out the middle connector of extended coupling, then the rotor can be taken out.

Pump volume (pump casing and pump cover) makes up the working room of the pump. Impeller, shaft and roller bearing are pump rotor. Hanging bearing part supports the pump rotor, and roller bearing bears the radial power and axial power of the pump.

To balance the pump shaft axial power, seal rings are designed before and behind the impeller of most pumps, and there is a balance hole on the back board of the impeller. For some pumps with small shaft axial power, there is no seal ring and balance hole on the back face of the impeller.

Shaft seal and transmission mode

The shaft axial seal of IS series pump uses stuffing seal, which is made up of stuffing cover, stuffing ring and stuffing.

If the pump impeller has a balance hole, the hollow room filled with soft stuffing is connected with the suction of the impeller. If the liquid on the impeller suction is vacuum, gas can easily enter through the face of the shaft sleeve, so a stuffing ring is installed in the stuffing room. Press the water in the pump room to the stuffing ring through the little hole on the shaft cover to form a seal.

If the impeller has no balance hole, the liquid pressure of the impeller back is larger than gas pressure, so gas cannot leak, and the stuffing ring is not used.

To avoid shaft wear, a shaft sleeve protector is installed on the part where the shaft goes through the stuffing room. An O-seal ring is installed between the shaft sleeve and the shaft to avoid gas entering or water leaking through the fitting surface.

The pump is connected with the motor through an extended spring coupling. The pump revolves clockwise when viewed from the driving end.
